New Hens!

I haven't posted in a while guys, sorry about that!  I have been so busy with everything in my life right now!  Sadly, two of my chickens died, one as a young chick, and one just a few days ago.  I now only have four chickens, and decided that I needed to expand.  I am getting hens over the weekend, and will definetly post pictures of them and some updated photos of the chicks!  I can't wait to show you all!  I will do this in the morning, for it is almost 11 at night!  See you all tomorrow! :)

Chickens are finally in the coop!

Today, we put the chicks out into the "nesting" part of the coop, and so far, they have been doing fabulous!  I blocked off the door to down the ramp and into the run (for now) so they are safer.  They are growing up so fast!  Before you know it, I will be going down every morning to collect eggs!  I did put a light in with them, just to make sure they will be "ok".  Luckily, my mom's side has been raising chickens their whole lives, so I have had a lot of help and guidance!  I will be sure to keep you guys updated!  Please check the "Pictures" tab to see the pics!

Coop and Chicks!

I just finished building the coop, thanks to the help of my uncle and grandpa!  I will post the pictures soon!  Also, I got six baby Bantams!  Bantams are "mini" chickens, only getting 1-2 pounds.  I have had them for nearly 3 weeks now, so they are pretty big!  Pictures to come of them also!

Overall, these last 2-3 weeks were fun-filled and exciting!  Check back in for the pics!

Supplies Run!

Yesterday, late at night, I went over the picture and wrote down every single thing I need. Today I am going to Lowes and checking prices of everything and I will have an estimated cost for you all. I can't wait!

Chicken Coop Being Built!

So I don't have any chickens yet.... yet! I am building the coop now, so in the spring I am ready to order those chickens. This is a link to the one I am building:

I am building it with my mom and uncle. My dad hasn't really accepted the fact that I am getting chickens, especially since our neighbors are close to us. We are following some guidelines on the website, but are pretty much figuring it out as we go! I will be sure to keep y'll updated!
